If someone said, "Prepare to gibe!", would you know what to do?  Your first few times sailing can be an overwhelming experience.  Not only do you need to know how to stay on the boat, watch for lines and swinging pieces of wood, but you need to know a new language as well.  Not knowing the “sailing lingo” can put you and your crew in danger.  If you're ever unsure of a term used in the fieldtrip, use the glossary link for help.
