Online fieldtrips offer a unique way to explore the world when you don't have an opportunity to visit for yourself.  Come for a virtual sail with the Frazier family and discover the wonders of South American coast and the South Pacific.

  • Sail along as an honorary crew member learning as we learn about the countries, their people, and culture through the eyes of a twelve and seven year old as they share their daily adventures in an online journal.
  • Interact with the family though the bulletin board, where you can ask the questions that are really on your mind.
  • Meet other children from each country as Maddie and Collin visit the children's' schools and homes getting to know what it is really like to grow up in their country.
  • Discover what it really takes to be a competent crew member by learning essential sailing techniques through online activities in Navigation, Knot Tying, Geography, and the sailor's lingo.

Get started by clicking on Meet The Family, then Weekly Reports.  Click on the Library link to find a photo gallery and a glossary of sailing terms.

Teachers who want to make this Internet fieldtrip part of their curriculum will also find a review of the activities, practical suggestions about using it in their classroom, a suggested schedule, and lesson plans correlated to Nevada State Standards which they can adapt for their own uses in the Teacher Lounge. Extensive links to other web sites of historic places in the counties featured in the fieldtrip are also available there.
